HEPA Tower Air Purifier (HPA175/HPA180)

• What room size is this product recommended for?

  The InSight™ Series HEPA Tower unit (model HPA180B) is recommended for rooms up to 200 square feet.

  This suggested room size is based on 4.8 air exchanges per hour.

• Are initial filters included in the unit?

  Yes, the unit includes one pre-filter and two HEPA filters.

• Which filters does this unit use?

  This unit uses these main filters:

  • Pre-Filter: 1 Honeywell cut to size Pre-Filter A (model HRF-AP1) or A+ (model HRF-APP1)
  • HEPA Filter: 2 Honeywell HEPA G Filter (model HRF-G)

  This unit also accepts 2 Honeywell Enhanced Odor T Filters (sold separately, available in Feb 2022) which provide an additional level of customized filtration. Choose from one of four options:

  • Smoke Odor T Filter (model HRFTS1)
  • Kitchen Odor T Filter (model HRFTK1)
  • Pet Odor T Filter (model HRFTP1)
  • Home Renovation VOC T Filter (model HRFTC1)

   Note that the T filter fits between the Pre-Filter and the HEPA filters.

• How often do the filters have to be replaced?

  The Pre-Filter is recommended to be replaced every 3 months while the HEPA filters are recommended to be replaced every 12 months.  If using the optional Enhanced Odor T filter, those are recommended to be replaced every 3 months.

• Can I wash any of the filters in my Air Purifier?

  No, none of the filters in this unit are washable.  Washing the filters will ruin them.

• Does this product produce ions?

  No, this product does not feature an ionizer.

• My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What’s wrong?

  The filters may be dirty. High amounts of particles can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To help ensure the unit is performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.

• How long should I run my Air Purifier?

  In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your air purifier 24 hours a day.

• What are VOCs?

  Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted from various solids and liquids such as paints, cleaning supplies, building materials, and permanent markers. Some of these compounds can have higher concentrations indoors than outside.

• Why did my Air Purifier suddenly turn on a higher setting? (HPA180)

  Is the air purifier set to Automatic Cleaning Mode? If it is, the unit may have sensed a higher level of VOCs and has adjusted the cleaning level accordingly.
