CARB
A CARB (California Air Resources Board) certification is for air purifiers that have passed tests for electrical safety and ozone emissions, which can be harmful to health.
UL or ETL
Listings from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or Electrical Testing Labs/Intertek (ETL) that ensure products meet defined safety requirements.
AHAM Verifide®
Room air cleaners certified through the AHAM Verifide program have been tested by an independent laboratory to ensure the product will perform to the manufacturer’s product claims for the suggested room size to reduce tobacco smoke, dust, and pollen.Needlepoint ionization is installed in HVAC systems to charge the particles in the room, though it also generates ozone.
HEPA
