Owner's Manual & FAQs

Owner’s Manual: Top Fill Warm Mist Humidifier (HWM440 Series)

Question: What does it mean if the Reset Light is Illuminated?

Answer: When your humidifier is out of water, the Reset Light will illuminate.  To reset, please refer to the following steps:

Turn Power OFF.

Pour up to 1.5 gallons of water into the Fill Area.

Wait 5 minutes and turn the power ON.

Note:  If the Reset Light is still on, the Heating Element may need to be cleaned.  For cleaning instructions, please refer to the “How do I clean my humidifier” section of the FAQ’s and your Owner’s Manual, found above.

Question: What do I do if water is overflowing from the reservoir?

Answer: If you notice water overflowing from the reservoir, check to make sure the float is securely installed, by repositioning the red tab in channel guides and pushing down to secure.

Question: What does it mean if condensation forms around the humidifier or windows?

Answer: If you notice condensation forming around your humidifier or windows, lower the mist setting and open a door.

Question: How do I clean my humidifier?

Answer: Weekly cleaning is recommended to keep your humidifier running efficiently.  Cleaning should be done on a water-resistant surface in the kitchen or bathroom, near a faucet.

Please refer to the following cleaning instructions, which can also be found in your Owner’s Manual, found above.  Before you begin cleaning, turn humidifier off, unplug and let cool.

Note: If the humidifier has recently been used, wait at least 20 minutes for the unit to cool before beginning the cleaning process.

Remove cover, mist chimney, heating element cover and float.

Pour 3 cups of white vinegar in the water tank; let soak 20 minutes to loosen mineral buildup.

Use a soft brush to gently scrub the surface of the heating element to remove mineral build up. Never use hard brushes, steel wool or other hard abrasives on the heating element.

Empty vinegar and rinse tank until the smell of vinegar is gone.

The top cover, mist chimney and the heating element cover are all dishwasher safe and may be cleaning on the top rack in the dishwasher only.  No other parts of the humidifier are dishwasher safe.
